#PeepThisBeat Goes Live Bi-Weekly

In case you were about to listen to this expecting BBC grade radio here, your sadly mistaken. This is unfiltered banter, interviews, and shout outs from the minds of PeepThis & Friends.

There is swearing, awkward pauses, technical errors and such. But it is choc full of some good quality original music and live mixing in studio by some of the areas best artists.

This volume we feature JP Mac, an area local DJ that has been a huge part of the EDM culture. You have probably seen his name on many great bills in the area. On this particular studio session he throws down some massive electro-house bangers to keep your body moving.

We also have the legendary SweatPantsMoney, a 4-ish person crew with more talent than they know what to do with. pulling together all of there different styles and production to create beautifully organized mayhem in there performances. In this set expect some mellow house and funk to start off ending with some ear catching original tracks and heavy rounded bass lines that flow to your brain like a fine wine.

So sit back, turn it up, and we hope everyone enjoys and joins in the amount of fun we had on this one.

Dillon Francis getting Wet & Reckless w/ Baauer and Clockwork Thursday Nov. 8th!

It's nearly impossible to put into words the excitement we have over here at PeepThis for this show tonight.  The energy surrounding this event is like no other.  With a solid lineup of the Freshest artists Wet & Reckless tour is looking so steezy.  To put it bluntly we're FUCKING STOKED!

PeepThis Event Page

Heres some quick Bios on these wild n crazy Cats:

Dillon Francis

Almost out of nowhere, Los Angeles’ Dillon Francis has broken from the throng of young electronic music dj/producers. With a stream of world-class remixes and releases, Dillon has caught the attention of some of the top players in club land, including Steve Aoki, Diplo, Will I. Am, Drop The Lime, Sinden, and Tittsworth to name some. In less than a year his blistering productions have been heavily supported by Major Lazer, who opened their show with “Westside!,” a Dutch House-flavored monster that was consistently rinsed by top djs on both sides of the pond, including Sinden and Steve Aoki. The tune is finally seeing a proper release on Diplo’s Mad Decent label, where Dillon will be releasing his “Masta Blasta” EP as well in the near future.. From his first dubstep release on Play Me Records, the heavy “Take Me High” peaked at No. 13 on the Beatport dubstep chart and was played in full by Rusko in every one of his sets for his current OMG tour. In the coming months, Dillon will have releases on Mad Decent, Dim Mak, Top Billin’, as well as Plant Music, where he will be releasing his next club EP. At ease behind the turntables and in the studio, in the electro world and in dubstep, Dillon is what you would call an open-format electronic dj who sees no delineation between making music and playing it. He has gotten huge support from the most important dance music blogs (Dim Mak, Mad Decent, Discobelle, Gotta Dance Dirty) ever since releasing his first bootlegs last year, and 2011 promises to be Dillon’s breakout year.

Clockwork

Los Angeles born, New York City based DJ/Producer Clockwork has been churning out heavy hitting tracks since 2009. He was one of the many 18 year olds circling the dance blogosphere from their bedrooms, but his innovative big room sound quickly emerged and he was soon recognized by artists like Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki, Felix Cartal, and everyone in between.
The Squad Up EP marks Clockwork’s full realization of the bass-heavy, no-frill electro sound that he has developed since he first threw himself into the dance music scene. Expect the unique marriage of heavy bass lines, thundering drum patterns, and memorable drops, representing the big room sound that is Clockwork.

Baauer

The love child of Brooklyn and the Internet, Baauer was born out of noise. A sound that began steeped in the 4/4 dance tradition, slowly took on hip hop tendencies until the two became one. Influenced heavily by southern hip-hop and UK bass sounds, Baauer has found himself smack dab in the middle of the electronic renaissance. He is the delectable fusion of future-crunk and leather shaken aggressively in a bottle for years and has only just opened the top to pour the mixture out

PeepThisBeat - Episode 1

Ain't NO Party like a PeepThis Party!

So the Frankenstorm is coming and I wish I could blame it on the closing of the Armory.  Instead I can only point fingers at Promoters with bad intentions and shoty event management plans.  We are extremely saddened by the chain of events that have put our beloved Washington Ave Armory in darkness.  We are fully supportive of the Armory staff for their hard work proceeding these events. I heard that they have completely restructured their security procedures and staff.  I just hope that the city and the Armory can learn from these mistakes.  I also wish that the media and city officials can learn to not generalize every EDM show as a Rave or let's get black out drunk party.  There are great local promoters like PeepThis, U Is Nation, Unity, Avid, Street Cats, etc.... that put on quality MUSIC driven events that have been going on incident free for years.

Since last Friday's Masquerave was postponed to November 30th we here at PeepThis decided to host our own Halloween style House Party!  So we called our Peeps and quickly had Dj's, Dancers, and Fans roaring to release their rage.  We swept out our basement and set up my colossal QSC system along with Lasers, LED's, and of course some Black Lights.  Upstairs we had a living room stage with a perfect wood floor for all of the shufflers.

Rome Thrasher

Dj Rome Thrasher got the basement pumping with some heavy electro and Progressive house that had us all jumping around the room.  As more Peeps rolled into JD's used car lot we were sure to be courteous to our neighbors so we kept the weirdness inside and on the back porch lol.

Before we knew it the place was packed with beautiful dancers and even shuffling penguins!  Dj Hazeyy setup his CDJ's and started slamming the upstairs with some FAT beats.

❤ Courtney
Even some of our favorite artists started showing up!  Like Tony Colasurdo and Kayla Sacco.  They started filming away as the nightly shenanigans ensued   With all of our Show Fam in the building the Vibe was building beautifully.  It was apparent that we were all heart broken to not be at Masquerave but we def. needed a night to unwind and chill VIP style.  Thank you to all that came out!  It's because of all our Peeps that we keep doing what we do.

PeepThis NYC Beat

What's going on my Peeps?  If you didn't see the madness that went down at Oneonta Masquerave then  I hope you saw the craziness that was Unity 8 on Friday Oct 12th hosted by the infamous Eric David.  This show has become the staple of local talent and extreme fans.  The night is always surrounded by die hard enthusiasts that are there solely to dance the night away.  If you have never seen a Unity event at the Fuze Box in Albany then I suggest you PeepThis ASAP!

The real highlight of our weekend was going down to Webster Hall in Manhattan NY.  This Venue has hosted some of the largest EDM shows to ever come through NY.  Our good friends at girls & boys showed us an amazing night amongst the NYC ravers.

Everyone was eagerly awaiting the doors to be opened.  Finally at midnight the masqueravers started flooding in.  Kido and TrevMunz started off the night with some big room bangers.  The diverse crowd in crazy masks started warming up as PeepThis gogo started hooping and putting up their hands in the shape of a heart.  Free masks were being supplied to everyone that entered into the freak show that was Webster Hall.

Mike Chach
Webster Residents Mike Chach and  Dj Jess took the stage as the night climaxed into a night of Bass and live art.  The fire performers, aerialist, and dancers lit up the ballroom stages of Webster Hall.  Mike Chach hypnatized the crowd with a seductive energizing breakdown.  The aerialist prepared themselves to present a breathtaking performance of suspended joy that caught the attention of the whole room.  VIP big wigs and staff alike had to pause to take in the beauty of the night.

Kloud9 FINALLY showed up and brought the crowd down with some funky beats and future bass that left the room shaking.  PeepThis gogo was of coure there the whole night showing love to all the Peeps.

This was the third of four stops of the Masquerave "City Tour".  We have our last installment coming up October 26th @ Washington Avenue Armory.

We'd like to give a special thanks to U IS Nation for without them this Masquerave Tour would not be possible.
